About What is Cellar Woodworks?

Cellar Woodworks 'Fine' woodworking, is the creation of Peter Akrill, who is a hobby woodworker, so this Fine Woodworking, is less fine detail and more jokingly"yeah, that's fine I suppose"

Pete is a problem solver first and foremost; and loves coming up with solutions to a problem either in his profesional job of Software Engineering or as a woodworker. Most of his woodwork is to solve a specific problem he has, or to experiment to develop a new skill.

He will sometimes take on a commision if he has the time

History

The first Cellar Woodworks was setup in 2017, in a very old damp cellar of Pete's rented terrace house in Sheffield, UK with a load of second hand tools

Cellar, Walkey, Sheffield
The First Cellar Workshop, in a cellar with damp on the walls, handsaw and dinosaurs
I had to clear the place of all rotting wood, and detritus from many previous tenants before laying new floor and big waterproof liner underneath

He soon moved out of his cellar and rented a space Kelhamn Island, Sheffield. Literally down the road from Thomas Flinn and down the hill from the former Stanley Toolworks Factory

Workshop, Kelham Island, Sheffield
Second Cellar workshop, some tools align the walls, a ladder heads up to a messinne floor and no damp on the walls
First rented workspace

However his Software development job would take him to Malmö, Sweden and now Cellar Woodworks is a private garage, but the name has been kept, the Shopasaurs sometimes make an appearence
