Sewing Machine Transport Box
This is not an impressive piece of work but it does have an interesting story, so I feel it's worth writing about.
Design
My partner and I were moving to Sweden, we had a problem that we didn't know how we were going to transport her sewing machine safely. We failed to find anything in the second hand places, and so I decided that I would make a box for her. So whilst my partner was doing the stressful things like sorting out things, packing boxes, I was happily in the workshop making this.
There has been a story in her household of when her dad made a record player stand out of wood; it did not go well; but the piece was still used for a very long time before being relegated to their garage, gathering dust until I grabbed it.
Creation
It was a bit of an rushed ad-hoc project there was no real plan except "incorporate the record player wood in it". The exposed wooden sides were once that record player.
Maybe next time we move country I'll take it apart and make it nicer and with a design other than "Frame with left over wood"
Lessons Learned
Don't dissapear off for a few days to make a box when you should be packing.
